FOR AGES 7-11

Following on from the success of last year’s Big Yorkshire Youth Theatre Festival, we’re back for the Big Yorkshire Youth Theatre Festival 2019 on Saturday 20 July.

The Junior day is for young people aged 7-11 to come and take part in two workshops with theatre practitioners, working with young people from other youth theatres to gain new skills. These sessions will be based at York Theatre Royal. Workshops include:

  • Immersive Storytelling with Anna Rogers

  • Improvisation with Paul Birch

  • Script Detective with Frances Simon

FOR AGES 12-19

The Senior Festival will take place over a 12 hour period from 9am to 9pm, offering a big warm up, a choice of workshops, networking opportunities, a chance to bring your own work and see the work of other youth theatres and professional companies, plus a giant improv battle! This takes place over two sites in York; York Theatre Royal and Riding Lights, Friargate.

Workshops include:

  • Improvisation with Paul Birch

  • Senior Lighting with Simon Bedwell

  • Abstract Theatre and Harold Pinter Sketches with Anna Rogers
